Drybar Phoenix

06/30/2013 by Guest Blogger

Drybar’s new Phoenix location, near the Biltmore is a chic and cozy place to get your tresses styled to perfection.

Needing some serious hairapy (Hair – Therapy) and just wanting to spoil myself a little I made an appointment at Drybar in Phoenix. From start to finish, the entire experience was stress-free and enjoyable. Not only can you make an appointment online but also calling the salon to speak to one of their sweet receptionist is just as easy. I’m a people person so I opted for the old school method of picking up the phone to make my appointment. You won’t be disappointed if you call, their receptionists are really friendly and always make you feel as if your phone call is important. Because to them, your call is important. With the hustle and bustle of the day, it’s nice to know that they slow down just for you.

Upon arrival I was greeted with a smile and offered a refreshing beverage. After a very short wait my stylist greeted me ready for action. The first thing you should know about Drybar is that their stylists are trained by a bevy of Drybar blowout masters, so no matter what Drybar chair you find yourself sitting in from New York to Phoenix, your hair is always going to look fabulous. There is a distinct Drybar style, (which Spa Girl and I can spot from a mile away), which boasts quality over quantity. The Drybar lookbook-style menu is easy to choose from and fun to flip through. I chose The Cosmo, which is lots of loose curls.

After a short consultation and a sip of my water I was lead back to the shampoo room. Lying back in the comfy white chair, the décor was very peaceful and put me at ease as my stylist began to shampoo and condition may hair. Every time I get my hair done it almost puts me to sleep because I love getting my hair washed. After a nudge to wake up we took a short walk back to my chair and the styling began. Very gently my stylist blew out my hair and curled it to perfection.

There are a few things that really set Drybar apart from other salons or blow dry bars. One: they don’t charge you extra for “hot tool.” For the blow dry bar novice that means, curling irons, flat irons and basically anything that is “hot” besides the blow dryer. Their blow out is $35, no hidden charges. Two: if it’s raining or there is even a chance of rain they give you a complimentary umbrella that says “Rain Blows” (that made me chuckle). I was thankful for this because the heavens opened right after my hair was done. I was appreciative that my blowout wasn’t ruined and now I have a cute new umbrella! Lastly, they have free cookies and I think that is awesome.

Drybar has two locations in Arizona. Their flagship Arizona location in the Drybar at Scottsdale Quarter and their new location in Drybar Phoenix.
