Brow Threading at Beautif-Eye Studios Scottsdale

02/25/2013 by azspagirl

If you’ve never tried facial threading, Tori at Beautif-Eye Studios is your girl! An aesthecian and experienced threader, she is also an absolutely meticulous eyebrow shaper. I visited Tori for my very first brow threading service recently and was blown away by the results.

The second-story Beautif-Eye studio houses a sunlight-filled reception area, spacious skincare treatment room and threading space with special reclining chairs. I settled into one of the chairs where she prepped me for the service. Explaining the process as she went along, she first dabbed my brows with powder to remove excess oil (Me? Oily? On a 112 degree day? Oh Lord, yes!). Then she had me hold down my eyelid with one hand and pull the skin above my brow with the other hand so that she could get the hairs underneath my brow. Next, I let go and she worked around the outside of the brow, working the thread between her fingers and pulling up tiny rows of hair quickly and efficiently. I’m used to the stinging yank of waxing so I wouldn’t say that the threading hurt — just a minor ouch as she pulled up the hairs by their roots — but it definitely feels different than waxing. The “ouchies” subsided quickly and she was done with both brows in just minutes. She finished with a little plucking, a quick trim and a dab of cooling gel. And viola, perfect brows. Seriously, perfect. Someone even complimented me the next day on my well-shaped brows.

I love this bright cheery space and the convenient location in Old Town. Hmmm, I may never go back to waxing!
